The Theo Walker Fund has been established in memory of our son, Theo, who died at the age of 4 & half weeks old from a congential heart condition known as pulmonary atresia with IVS & MAPCAs and a hypoplastic right ventricle. In only seven months, Theo has raised over £55,000 (including Gift Aid)!!! Thank you SO MUCH for helping Theo to acheive this. Click here to find out all about the fundraising events that are taking place in 2010.

THEO DID IT!! Just before 8am on 18th July, Theo's team conquered the 3-highest peaks in Wales, England in Scotland in less than 24-hrs. Amazingly we were proceeded the weekend before by another intrepid group, who did it even faster!... The two groups have raised in excess of £22,500 for the Theo Walker Fund!! WELL DONE TO ALL!

Funds raised by the Theo Walker Fund have and are being donated to a three charities focused on the care of children with either terminal or life threatening conditions - The Brompton Fountain, Chase Kids Hospice and Heartline.

WELCOME

Thank you for visiting the Theo Walker Fund ('TWF'). We have established this website and the Fund for the following reasons:

1. To share our experience with other families starting out on similiar journeys... the moment our child was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition isolated us from the comfortable world we knew. For long periods we were certain no one else could know our pain or understand our despair. It was talking and meeting other families that have been through similar experiences, the people whose words really do penetrate, that helped us more than anything else.

2. To raise money and awareness so that the quality of care available to families can be improved further ... the care we received whilst in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit ('PICU') of the Royal Brompton and then at home from various community organisations was truly exceptional. The provision of this care often relies on charitable donations.

We would welcome and be enormously grateful of any donations in memory of Theo and even more so your support for any TWF fundraising events. Please join our mailing list so that you can be informed of TWF events.

3. And the final purpose of this website is personal... we can no longer care for our son. This website and the fundraising events which we arrange provide us with an opportunity to channel our love for Theo and ensure his remembrance. Don't be afraid to ask us about Theo or how we're doing. We love talking about him, and don't worry about being trapped for hours; Theo only had 4 and weeks so we haven't got that many stories to bore you with!

Theo may no longer be physically with us but he has changed our lives forever. We hope that the spirit which he showed in his short life will be a positive force for the future

With love and gratitude for the time you have taken to visit Theo's website and the support you provided us by doing just that.

Dan & Lucy, Jan 2010
